A 65-year-old man fell 130 feet to his death at the Grand Canyon on Thursday.
At about 2 p.m. on Thursday, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call to help the Hualapai Nation in a technical recovery at Guano Point, according to a statement shared by the sheriff's office on Friday.
"A 65-year-old male had slipped and fell over the edge into the canyon and was deceased," the statement said. "Search and Rescue responded and located him about 130 feet down on a scree pile." A scree pile is an accumulation of loose, broken rock fragments at the base of a cliff.
The victim's identity was not released by authorities.
