MOORHEAD — Gage Florence is now the all-time king of NCAA Division II football pass catchers.
The Dragons wide receiver became the D-II career receptions leader with his catch in the second quarter against the University of Jamestown on Saturday in NSIC football at Alex Nemzek Stadium. MSUM earned a 44-20 victory before 1,767 fans.
“I wasn’t stressing," Florence said. "I wasn’t worried about whether I going to get it in this time frame.”
That second-quarter grab was career No. 387 for Florence, a senior from Sawyer, North Dakota, and his fifth on the afternoon. On the play, Florence started in the slot to the short side of the field. He then went in motion across the formation.
