FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A Veterans Day parade and ceremony were held in Fort Wayne on Saturday.
Organized by the volunteer-run Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations, the parade, titled “A Salute to Service,” began at 11 a.m.
Community members and organizations made their way down Parnell Avenue from near Bob Arnold Northside Park to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
They say they are glad for the opportunity to show love to veterans and the community.
“We have 63 entries this year,” Alan Schuette, First Vice Commander of the Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations, said. “Which is probably a record right now. We have a lot of folks showing up.”
The ceremony, held at the Memorial Hall in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, followed the parade.
