Mackinley Parrott is a winner.

As the last holdout from Sequoyah’s most recent trip to the volleyball state championship match, Parrott knows what it takes to compete against the state’s best. This year, she powered the Chiefs to a 23-6 overall record, 5-2 mark in Region 6AAAAA and a spot in the Class AAAAA semifinals.

After another winning season and another deep playoff run, Parrott was named the 2025 Cherokee County Volleyball Player of the Year.

“She just knows what it takes to be successful,” Sequoyah coach John Edwards said. “She did a great job of trying to get people involved and to run the offense without me having to tell her much. She puts everyone in the best position possible to be successful, and that comes from her experience and just understanding of the game.”
