MISSOURI - If you've had your car stolen recently in Missouri, you're not alone. Nearly 9,000 vehicles have been reported stolen in the Show Me State in the first half of 2025, according to new data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
Nationwide, the NICB reports more than 334,000 vehicles were stolen during the same time period. And halfway through the year, Missouri had the sixth-highest vehicle theft rate at around 142 stolen vehicles per 100,000 residents.
The NICB recently released it annual mid-year vehicle theft report and shared additional data with FOX 2 revealing that some vehicles are being targeted far more than others in Missouri thefts.
