A 65-year-old man has tragically died after slipping off the edge of the Grand Canyon .
The victim fell around 130 feet from Guano Point on the western rim of the canyon, located on the Hualapai Reservation, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office assisted Hualapai Nation technicians, who used ropes to create a pulley system, which was lowered into the canyon to recover the man's body on Thursday afternoon.
"Search and Rescue responded and located him about 130 feet down on a scree pile," the sheriff's office said. "Technical rope technicians set up a lowering and raising system using ropes to recover him and convey the body to the Mohave County Medical Examiners Office."
