HACKENSACK — Minnesota’s food shelves have seen a large uptick in use this year by people of all ages as food costs continue to rise and SNAP benefits face an uncertain future.

Food insecurity is one of the top ongoing concerns for older adults in Minnesota. Faith in Action for Cass County partners with area food shelves in Cass County to have volunteer drivers available to get people to and from the food shelf on the days they are open, as well as to local grocery stores and farmers markets.

Volunteer drivers are especially needed throughout Cass County at this time. Volunteers with Faith in Action can choose when they are available, how often they want to drive and how far.
