Warwick senior Ariana Logsdon won the Class 5 state cross country meet at the Oatlands Plantation course Saturday in Leesburg.

She covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 52.97 seconds to become the first girl from the Peninsula District to win a state cross country title and the second from the Peninsula since Tabb’s Kasandra Aulenbach won it in 2018.

Last season, Logsdon finished eighth at the state meet. She also was the Class 5 Region B champion this season.

Hampton Roads placed seven runners in the top 15.

Maury’s Sophia Sadr was seventh (19:09.71), Princess Anne’s Carolin Haen was ninth (19:37.06), Granby’s Ella Pringle was 10th (19:44.24), Cox’s Danielle Maynor was 11th (19:44.23), Hickory’s Alexis Rice was 12th (19:44.24) and Kellam’s Kate Spain was 15th (20:04.80).
