The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t had the season they had hoped for, especially after making a bowl game last year and seeming poised for continued success following the departures of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to the NFL.

Entering Saturday’s clash against the West Virginia Mountaineers, both teams stood at 3-6, playing for their bowl eligibility. For Colorado, the nod at starting quarterback went to five-star freshman Julian Lewis, who performed admirably in a hostile environment.

Despite Lewis’ strong showing, the Buffaloes fell short, losing 29-22. With the defeat, they are now ineligible for postseason play — a tough blow after breaking that streak last season. Colorado finds itself near the bottom of the Big 12 once again, at least for 2025.
