NILES, Ohio (WKBN) -- It's starting to get chilly outside, so a group in Niles is bringing out all kinds of comfort food for a good cause.
The Steel Hammerz Heathen Crew motorcycle club hosted its second annual chili cookoff. They invited the community in to cook, taste and judge a full spread of different chilis at Niles Sons of Italy.
"Growing up with a large family, food was always bringing us together. So, what's better than chili to bring everyone together?" said Jessica Verrill, first lady of the Steel Hammerz.
The cookoff raised money to supply Thanksgiving dinners to families in need. Organizers say it's even more important this year now that SNAP Benefits are on hold during the government shutdown.
