A Columbia man, 40, was seriously injured in a crash on Missouri 763 Friday night.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. when a Lincoln sedan driven by the man tried to turn left on Missouri 763 just north of East Harvester Road.

The car travelled off the road, struck a concrete curb, a metal post and a utility pole, according to the crash report. The car then overturned, struck several wooden pallets and finally landed on its left side.

The Columbia man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries, according to the crash report.

The Lincoln sedan was totaled in the incident.
