A Macomb County teenager spent the weekend recovering after he was shot near the end of a Harper Woods High School football playoff game on Friday night, according to police.
Harper Woods police said a large fight broke out in the parking lot about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at the school, located on Beaconsfield Street south of Eight Mile Road. Harper Woods was facing off against Chandler Park Academy.
A 17-year-old Warren boy was shot in his lower torso, investigators said in a news release. Police described the gunshot wound as non-life threatening.
The teen was initially treated at the scene by Harper Woods firefighters and transported by Medstar Ambulance to an area hospital for further medical care.
