Lukas Scott was grinning ear-to-ear on Saturday, with a medal around his neck, following the game-winning field goal that won the Canada West championship.

As the game wound down to the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, his University of Saskatchewan Huskies were able to finish a march down the field and win the Hardy Cup against the Regina Rams , 25-24, with Scott’s 25-yard field goal.

“I missed a game winner against the Manitoba Bisons earlier in the season,” said Scott, whose season-preserving kick came with 25 seconds on the clock. “Just kind of thinking back to that, I really wanted to be able to lift up the boys today and that’s exactly what I did.

“Every person dreams of it and it’s a huge moment … I just knew I was going to hit that kick,” he added.

The Rams led 24-9
