NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — More than 900 people took part in the Central Arkansas Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday morning.

Organizers say the event raises awareness and funds for research and support services. Nearly 60,000 Arkansans are living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, and more than 150,000 caregivers assist them.

Kirsten Dickins, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association Arkansas Chapter, said the effort continues beyond the walk.

“They can visit our website and register,” Dickins said. “We’re going to keep this going until the end of the year, December 31, so we’d love to have some virtual participants as well.”
