OAKLAND -- The Bangor Rams are back-to-back Class A North champions after defeating Scarborough 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
In the first half, sophomore Georgie Stephenson put the Rams up 1-0, and was looking to score again as she had a one-on-one with Red Storm goalkeeper Vera Disotto, but Disotto jumped out in front and stopped the ball before Stephenson could even take a shot.
In the closing minutes of the game, Scarborough's Josie Duncan took a shot at the net but Bangor's Emily Caulkins jumped high up into the air to make the save, and secure the win for the Rams.
Bangor has faced Scarborough in the Class A state title game in each of the last three seasons, and has now come out victorious in the last two.
Congrats, Bangor!
