The Saskatchewan Roughriders have advanced to the Grey Cup game for the first time since 2013.
On Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 33,350 at Mosaic Stadium, Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris found receiver Tommy Nield for a three-yard touchdown with 11 seconds left as Saskatchewan beat the B.C. Lions 24-21 in the West final to advance to the CFL’s championship game.
Saskatchewan will now take on the Montreal Alouettes for the Grey Cup in Winnipeg on Nov. 16. The Alouettes earned the right to represent the East in the Grey Cup after beating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 19-16 earlier on Saturday.
While the Lions took a 7-4 lead into halftime in a low-scoring first 30 minutes, the second half provided much more drama.
