MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -The Stoughton High School Viking Marching Band performed at Badger Bash on Saturday for High School Band Day.
High school musicians played alongside the UW Marching Band ahead of the Badgers versus Huskies game. Stoughton’s band director, Dan Schmidt, said this was a great experience for his students.
“We’re able to expose students to all different types of music and all different types of genres,” he said. “Really the fall and the summer for us is all about marching band and we do field show competitions but also for us to able to share this with the UW Marching Band, who obviously is on the field and always looks and sounds fantastic is huge for us.”
Stoughton High School’s marching band won the state championships on Nov. 1.
