Hawaii Department of Human Services officials said today that they have not received reports of “widespread issues” with SNAP electric benefit transactions being declined after they released the federal food aid money Friday morning.

DHS officials moved quickly Friday morning to disburse the funds after U.S. Department of Agriculture officials said they were releasing the SNAP funding in response to a lower court’s order that the federal funds be disbursed. Late Friday, however, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson issued a two-day stay on the ruling, raising questions about whether funds released by Hawaii and a few other states would be available.
