Manohar Lal, Union minister of power, housing and urban affairs, released a Rs 50 commemorative coin to celebrate 50 years of NHPC Limited in the presence of Pankaj Agarwal, secretary (power), Bhupender Gupta, CMD, and Uttam Lal, director (personnel), NHPC.

The minister congratulated NHPC for its remarkable journey, noting that the coin symbolises the government’s recognition of NHPC’s enduring legacy and contribution to India’s energy self-reliance. He also launched a special comic book, “Chhota Bheem aur Bada Bandh”, to promote awareness about hydropower among children.
