India sealed the five-match T20I series 2-1 after the final game at The Gabba in Brisbane was abandoned due to rain. Only 4.5 overs were possible, during which openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill put on a blistering fifty-run stand before lightning and heavy rain halted play for over two hours.

Abhishek, who was dropped twice, created history by becoming the fastest batter to reach 1,000 T20I runs in terms of balls faced. Gill, too, looked in control, cracking four boundaries in a single over. With this result, captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir extended their streak to five consecutive bilateral T20I series wins.
