A tourist has died and nine others were injured after being swept into the sea in Tenerife. The tragic incident unfolded at the Puerto de la Cruz resort yesterday, Saturday, November 8, at around 3pm. ‌

The casualties mainly suffered trauma from impact against the pier or rocks , as well as complications from falling into the sea. Three of them remain in serious condition, reports the Mirror. ‌

Tragically, despite best efforts a woman could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. ‌

The injured people were rushed to different health centres nearby, including University Hospital of the Canary Islands , the North Hospital, and Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital.
