This past Saturday as I watched Girls on the Run 5K participants joyfully run around Buffalo Park, it reminded me how the park is central to Flagstaff’s identity as a running community.
Coincidentally, a few days later, when my friend Carla McCord, a volunteer on the city’s Beautification and Public Art Commission, emailed me about a Buffalo Park survey, she mentioned that it needed input from runners. I immediately shared it in my latest Northern Arizona Trail Runners Association (NATRA) newsletter.
