PROVIDENCE — Perhaps no other Division IV team but Tiverton would have entered Saturday night with this much confidence against Lincoln School.
The Tigers posted a convincing win over the Lynx in the regular-season finale and carried that belief into these girls soccer playoffs. The momentum they built culminated at Rhode Island College, with the No. 1 seed standing between them and a second straight championship.
Tori Murray scored after just three minutes and Beatrice Pimental added some needed insurance midway through the second half. It was Tiverton again walking off the Alumni Stadium turf with the trophy thanks to a 2-1 victory on Nov. 8.
