The hunt for a suspect is underway after a Sunday morning shooting between two vehicles in King Township, Ont.

York police responded to reports of a shooting on the road in the area of 15th Sideroad and Dufferin Street just after 7 a.m., according to a post on social media.

A suspect involved in the shooting fled the scene on foot, investigators said.

Officers are searching a residential area near Keele Street , south of 15th Sideroad, where there was expected to be an “increased police presence” including the deployment of the police service dog unit, officials said in an update on social media .

There is a road closure in place and people should avoid the area as police investigate, officials said.
