ORONO, Maine — Inside the University of Maine’s New Balance Student Recreation Center, sights, sounds, and smells from across the globe filled the air as students and community members gathered for Culturefest.
The annual celebration, hosted by UMaine’s Office of International Programs and the International Student Association, brought together more than 30 cultures under one roof — sharing food, music, art, and fashion.
“I feel like I’m traveling all over the world and all over the country,” said Mimi Burke, who attended the event.
Most of those featured were UMaine students, proud to share their backgrounds and stories with the campus and the wider community.
