CLARKSVILLE, Ind. —
A suspect is behind bars after he reportedly tried to hit a Clarksville police officer with his car.
Officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. on Thursday at Walmart on Veterans Parkway.
Police say they pulled over 22-year-old Shane Leffler. During the traffic stop, Leffler pulled forward, nearly hitting an officer with his car. He then rammed into the officer’s patrol car.
Leffler led officers in a vehicle pursuit from Clarksville to Louisville. He is accused of hitting several other cars before crashing on the Saint Catherine Street ramp.
Police chased him down and used a Taser to take him into custody.
Leffler faces charges of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting law enforcement (vehicle/foot), criminal recklessness, leaving the scene
