Frustrated travelers at Newark Liberty Airport were experiencing flight departure delays averaging up to two hours or more on the morning of Nov. 9, three days into a period of government-mandated flight cancellations , due to the federal government shutdown.
An advisory on the Federal Aviation Administration website that tracks flight delays across the country warns that those delay times are "increasing" in Newark, as Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has signaled flight cancellations will likely grow if the government shutdown continues .
