Australia’s east is set to feel a late spring chill as a series of incoming cold fronts deliver crisp temperatures, rain and possible storms.

Melbourne is set to be hit with a particularly bleak start to the week, with temperatures barely reaching the high teens as rainy skies settle in.

Examining the forecast ahead, Sky News Weather presenter Julia Seymour said a series of cold fronts were expected to “keep temperatures on the cooler side” as wet weather rolled in across multiple states.

In Queensland, a cloud band will likely bring showers and storms to places across the state on Monday, which Seymour said would spell “quite a cooler start to the week” for many.
