Michigan will definitely showcase our highly variable weather conditions now through sunrise Tuesday. Colder air is moving in, and the lake-effect, mini snowstorms are going to develop today.
The system snow early this morning did produce 1″-2″ of snow over southeast Michigan, including Ann Arbor and parts of Detroit. The accumulations were on the grass.
Now we transition to a northeast wind lake-effect first, gradually swinging to a north-northwesterly lake-effect.
With northeast and north winds mostly during this lake-effect situation, we will have a touch different snowy areas, compared to most lake-effect situations.
