LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - More than 9,000 runners ran through Lincoln on Sunday in the 12th annual Good Life Halfsy.

Race organizers said that this year’s number of participants is up more than 25% from last year’s 7,100 registrants.

The overall winner of the race, and of the male category, was 27-year-old John Cleary, with a time of one hour, seven minutes, and 58 seconds. The winner of the female category was Rita Moore, with a time of one hour, 16 minutes and 41 seconds.

Organizers worked with City of Lincoln officials to increase the width of road closures to give participants more room to run.
