Budgam, Nov 9: In a sharp attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma accused him of “begging for power” both in 2014 and again in 2024, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had rejected Omar’s proposals to ally with the BJP.

Addressing a packed election rally at Ompora, Budgam, on the final day of campaigning for the Budgam bypoll, Sharma challenged Omar to “swear upon the Holy Quran” if he had never approached the BJP for support to form the government.
