With Rhamondre Stevenson out with a toe injury, the last thing the Patriots needed was to lose another running back.
Terrell Jennings injured his left knee early in the game with Tampa Bay, and was listed as “questionable” to return.
Jennings had 4 carries for 5 yards before departing. He went to the blue tent, and was trying to work it out on the sidelines.
He was being used as the lead back. Rookie TreVeyon Henderson took over from there.
The Patriots called up D’Ernest Johnson from the practice squad. So he’s also available.
Stevenson was missing his second game. Antonio Gibson is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Outside of signing Johnson to the practice squad, the Patriots chose to stand pat at the trade deadline. Running back was a need, but the Patriots chose to stick with
