PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man accused of burglarizing homes in Phoenix was shot by a homeowner on Sunday morning.
At about 9 a.m., officers responded to a home near 40th Street and Thunderbird Road on a report of a burglary, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
While officers were working to find the suspect, they received another report in the neighborhood that a homeowner had shot the man after he allegedly forced entry into his house.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
