Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz were indicted on charges related to an alleged gambling scheme on Sunday.
Clase and Ortiz were accused of rigging bets on MLB games. Ortiz was arrested earlier Sunday, according to ESPN. Clase is yet to be in custody.
“MLB contacted federal law enforcement at the outset of its investigation and has fully cooperated throughout the process. We are aware of the indictment and today’s arrest, and our investigation is ongoing,” MLB told ESPN.
