BBC director-general Tim Davie has stepped down after the British national broadcaster was exposed for editing a speech President Donald Trump gave on January 6, 2021.
Mr Davie and chief executive of news Deborah Turness have both resigned from the broadcaster as the BBC faces relentless criticism online over accusations of bias at the corporation.
The BBC has been embroiled in a spate of allegations that it has failed to maintain political neutrality in its reporting, including in its coverage of President Trump, the Israel-Hamas war and trans rights issues.
In the most recent controversy, The Telegraph published an internal document produced by a former standards adviser who had listed a raft of errors, including in the way a speech by President Trump on January 6, 2021, was edited.
