SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - More than 1,200 people gathered at Ed Smith Stadium as All Faiths Food Bank held the Bowls of Hope fundraiser, where guests enjoyed soups and sweets from local restaurants while supporting the fight against hunger.
President and CEO of All Faiths Food Bank, Nelle Miller, said the event helps jumpstart conversations about food security along the Suncoast and what can be done to help.

“I think they really need to realize the severity of the situation on a good day — and this is not a good day right now,” Miller said. “We have a number of people who are coming to us for the first time. We are seeing a 25% increase in the number of neighbors coming to get help and an 89% increase in Sarasota County alone
