TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —

Two people have been arrested for their role in an overnight crash in Tuscaloosa that killed a woman.

Tuscaloosa police said the two in custody have been charged with driving under the influence in the crash that killed Cierra Anthony, 21, of Tuscaloosa around 2 a.m. Sunday.

They have not yet been identified.

Anthony was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The exact circumstances of what caused the second incident are unclear, but it is being investigated by the Tuscaloosa Police Department's traffic homicide unit.

This crash was one of two that Tuscaloosa County experienced in less than a 12-hour span.
