Fourteen high school students from across New Mexico have been selected as the inaugural Land of Enchantment Young Ambassadors — a new leadership program from the state Department of Transportation and the Governor's Office that empowers youth to fight litter and graffiti while promoting community pride.
Part of the Transportation Department's Que Linda program and the governor’s #KeepLitterOut campaign, the initiative drew more than 150 applicants statewide. Each ambassador will lead a local beautification project and complete a capstone aimed at creating sustainable anti-litter solutions during the nine-month fellowship, which includes a $3,000 stipend.
