ADAMS COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Adams County jail is dealing with a staffing shortage while battling ongoing repair issues including leaky roofs and broken security cameras.
Officials say they need communication and correction officers. These positions work directly with inmates and require working some weekends and holidays.
“Right now, it’s probably not the most desirable job field in the world due to public image and public perception,” Michael Doremus, jail administrator said. “I think it’s a very rewarding career that people don’t understand,”.
Doremus said the county offers competitive pay and great benefits. Workers will have to complete a two-week certification before being employed.
