SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Behind a franchise record-setting and historic performance by quarterback Matthew Stafford and timely turnovers created by their defense, the Rams (7-2) defeated the 49ers 42-26 on Sunday at Levi's Stadium.
The victory over San Francisco (6-4) extended Los Angeles' win streak to four games.
Stafford finished 24 of 36 for 280 yards and four touchdowns, became the first QB in franchise history to throw 4-plus touchdown passes in three straight regular season games, and also became the 7th QB in NFL history to accomplish the feat, joining Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes and Drew Brees.
Wide receiver Davante Adams had six receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown in the win; his receiving touchdown broke a tie with Tony Gonzal
