Two women face charges of child and animal neglect after arrests last week in Ardmore.

According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department, houseMonica Elizabeth Tucker, 65, and Evelyn Rose Hill, 25, were arrested after an eviction notice was served at a home in the 29000 block of Ardmore Avenue. During that process, officers found the home to be in “extreme disarray,” with “significant accumulations” of feces and urine throughout the rooms.

Two children were living in the home. The children are now in the custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources.

Multiple cases of animal neglect were also discovered, the sheriff’s department said. Limestone County Animal Control was contacted and further investigation found five dogs and seven cats suffering from severe malnourishment
