LANSING – The city’s cold weather plan, dubbed “Code Blue,” has been activated through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The plan allows local shelters to open for additional hours and to exceed capacity.
Mayor Andy Schor initiated the plan after coordinating with the Lansing Fire Department’s Emergency Management Division and the Department of Human Relations & Community Services.
During the Code Blue, Letts Community Center will be a warming center overnight from 9 p.m. 6 a.m.
Additionally, the Lansing Board of Water & Light will not do electric shutoffs while the Code Blue is in effect.
Residents can call 211 for access to additional social service resources.
All city buildings will be closed on Tuesday, Nov 11, for Veteran's Day.
