Eastern Ontario’s first taste of winter brought mayhem to roads across the region.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), East Region, have responded to more than 120 collisions across eastern Ontario between noon and 4pm Sunday, according to OPP communiations oficer, Bill Dickson.

Weather reports indicate this early taste of winter is the cause of the poor driving conditions and subsequent chaos on the roads.
According to the Weather Network’s website, a low-pressure system out of western Canada, fueled by strong Arctic air, has covered most roads across southern and eastern Ontario with snow and, in some milder areas, a winter mix of snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain.
