A man was injured in a stabbing Sunday evening in Providence, Rhode Island, and a suspect has been arrested.

Police tell NBC10 Boston affiliate WJAR that officers were called to 386 Broad Street around 5:15 p.m. for a report of a stabbing and arrived to find the victim, identified only as a man in his 40s, conscious and alert. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. There was no immediate update on his condition.

Officers took the suspect into custody near Broad and Myrtle streets on a charge of felony assault, according to WJAR.

Additional information hasn't been shared, including the victim or suspect's name, if they were known to each other, and what led up to this stabbing.
