The country’s top sports betting and online gaming companies are pushing back against any potential tax increase as state lawmakers in Harrisburg haggle over a long-delayed budget.

The Sports Betting Alliance — comprised of Bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics and FanDuel — says any tax hike could undercut growing industries, combined, generated nearly $3 billion in revenue and $1.3 billion in taxes in the last fiscal year, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The group ran an anti-tax ad this weekend in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas that will continue at least through Monday Night Football. The ad compared any potential tax bump on the group’s businesses to the high prices Pennsylvanians face at grocery stores and gas pumps.
