CLINTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- Clinton students will not have school on Monday after power was knocked out throughout most of the day on Sunday.
Drew Goebel, Superintendent of the Clinton Community Unit School District, announced Sunday evening that school would be canceled on Monday due to the recent outage. Goebel said it'll be an "Emergency Day," which means it will need to be made up at the end of the year.
Lincoln School is still without power, as of around 8 p.m. on Sunday. And, some of the other schools are experiencing heating issues due to the power surge damage.
"Our maintenance staff and service providers are actively working on repairs, and we are confident that school will resume on Tuesday," Goebel said.
All after-school activities are still scheduled to be held on Monday. Goebe
