Former nurse Rajwinder Singh is standing trial over the murder of Cairns woman Toyah Cordingley, whose body was found on a secluded Far North Queensland beach seven years ago.
Ms Cordingley, 24, was allegedly killed in Wangetti, north of Cairns, on the afternoon of October 21, 2018.
Mr Singh, 41, has pleaded not guilty to her murder.
A jury of 10 men and two women, along with three female reserve jurors, was empanelled this morning at the Supreme Court in Cairns, where Mr Singh's trial is expected to run for three weeks.
The jury was shown a list of more than 470 potential witnesses who could be called to give evidence.
They include Ms Cordingley's immediate family, her then-boyfriend Marco Heidenreich, along with civilian witnesses, police officers and forensic and telecommunications
