ATLANTA — Families gathered at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Monday to welcome home their loved ones who were stuck in Jamaica .
Sixteen men who were part of a mission trip to Jamaica returned after being stuck on the island following Hurricane Melissa. After several canceled flights they were able to make it back to Atlanta Monday with a connection in Nassau.
Dani Kwiatkowski eagerly awaited her husband Wayne’s return.
“When he texted me that he was on the plane in Nassau, I said my heart just skipped a beat,” she said.
She said the toughest part of him being in Jamaica during the hurricane was the impact it had on her children.
