In Pictures: Tense moments as protesters storm Panjab University campus

Chandigarh, November 10, 2025: Tension flared at Panjab University (PU) on Sunday as protesters participating in the ongoing “PU Bachao Morcha” broke open Gate No. 1 and entered the campus, despite heavy police deployment.

Since morning, hundreds of students, youth, and members of various organisations had gathered outside all three university gates, raising slogans and demanding the restoration of the university’s autonomy.

Despite extensive security arrangements by Chandigarh Police, the force was unable to prevent the breach as the crowd pushed through barricades.
