Delhi recorded its coldest morning of the season on Monday, with the minimum temperature settling at 10.4°C — 3.9°C below the season’s normal — according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This is the first instance this season when the mercury has dipped to around 10°C.

The air quality, meanwhile, remained hazardous in the ‘Very Poor’ category with an average AQI of 344 this morning.

The IMD’s historical data for the first 10 days of November over the past several years shows that this year has witnessed an unusually sharp and early drop in night temperatures.
